Development of Novel Eco-Packaging - Graduate Studies Opportunity

The project brief is to develop a new sustainable moulded packaging material for wet foods such as meats. The successful applicant will be closely involved in the development of the new material, working at a number of locations including the Materials Department at the University of Canterbury, Crop and Food Research Ltd, Lincoln, and the introduction of the materials to market at Potatopak NZ Ltd.

The technology for industry fellowships program is designed to support students studying (in this case) at the Masters Degree level, and give them the opportunity to apply their skill and knowledge to a commercially focused research and technology development programme. A $20,000 stipend will support the successful candidate for the duration of the Master's degree.
